“It saved me 3-4 years of heartache”

I thought many times before taking the plunge — I thought I'd be able to go it alone, work it out myself. Now that I've taken it, I can see it would've taken me 3-4 years at least to gain that big-picture, solid understanding.

CopyTribe saves me heartache every day —I know I'm doing it right. No more second-guessing.

It was worth every penny
.

I was surprised at just how much input we received from coaches & moderators. The clarity of the modules was excellent, with continual review of concepts — plus examples — so you didn’t feel overwhelmed.

Is    for you?

You are a...

You are a...

KINDA-WINGING-IT WRITER

You’ve got a knack for writing words that people like to read.

That clever poem in your high school yearbook, that personal essay in your N'shei newsletter, that 5-week series published in The Yenemsvelt Jewish Times — people loved them.

Everybody calls you to write:

  • birthday cards
  • thank-you notes
  • sheva brachos grammen
  • I-can't-believe-you-stole-my-cleaning-help breakup texts.

For good reason.
Your writing is EXCELLENT.

You’ve been eyeing copywriting as a career for a while now.
You even landed a couple of copywriting jobs — and you’ve done…okay.

But you rely solely on your gut. For everything

The truth:

Your gut (and ChatGPT) only goes so far.

It’s why you get a pit in your stomach at the thought of taking on a real job.

“How do I know I can do this?”
“Why are they trusting me?”
“Where do I even start?”
“What's gonna happen if I don’t deliver?”

Your clients are (mostly) satisfied, yeah, yeah...
↪ but does your copy actually DO what it’s supposed to?

So when the next person asks for your portfolio, you freeze.

Will your projects prove your expertise —
or expose your
inexperience?

You need good samples to land clients, and clients to create good samples.

THE ULTIMATE CATCH-22. 😬

And it’s not like you haven’t tried.

You follow some top copywriters — even subscribed to their lists.

Well, people who seem like they’re good copywriters.
You think.

They share strategies that should work...theoretically.
(They also try to sell you stuff. A lot of stuff.)

But even worse is the underlying question:

Do you have what it takes to make it as a copywriter?
Is your copy REALLY worth paying for?

What if you could join a comprehensive program that gives you every foundational skill you need to feel confident as a marketer —
plus in-depth assignments and professional feedback to build a polished portfolio?

You are a...

SMALL BUSINESS OWNER

You built a business from scratch — and watched it take off. 👏
It’s doing well, and you know that’s no small feat.

But there’s a thorn in your side.
It’s called marketing.

You know the importance of getting your name out there,
staying visible, attracting customers.

And you have no shortage of clever ideas.

But where do you start?

  • Where should you run ads to actually see returns?
  • Should they be full page, half page, 3/7ths of a page?
  • Should you be running print ads altogether??? Maybe an Instagram campaign would be smarter?

The questions make your head spin.

So you do what any smart business owner does — you bring in a specialist.
Someone to guide your marketing and write your copy.

You pay a pretty penny, but that’s not what stings the most.

What bothers you is the nagging thought that you could do it yourself.

You’re driven, creative, savvy.
And you’re not a bad writer yourself.

Wouldn’t it be nice to take your marketing into your own hands?
To stop outsourcing your thinking to an outsider
who will never know your business as well as you do?
(You’re its mother, after all.)

So you Google.
Study your competitors’ campaigns.
Brain dump and authoritatively instruct ChatGPT to “make it better.”

And voilà — your copy is born.

You blast it to the world.

Then reality sets in.

🙈

That email you spent hours polishing generated exactly $20…  and 33 unsubscribes.

🙈🙈

Mr. Competitor called you out on LinkedIn for copy-paste-tweaking his ad.

🙈🙈🙈

And that punchy, catchy webpage you drafted — even you don’t want to read it twice.

There’s something missing, something elusive.

Something the copywriters you’ve hired know that you DON’T.

(How does ChatGPT also not know it?)

It’s maddening. Because you know your business inside out.
You just don’t have the marketing strategy and copy skills to turn that knowledge into sales.

Do you keep draining your hard-earned money on always-booked-up freelancers every time you need something written?
Or do you keep it on your plate, hoping your DIY copy doesn’t tank your sales?

Neither option makes sense for your business…

Even when you hire a marketer, it feels like you’re bringing your car to the mechanic with no idea what’s going on under the hood.
You wish you understood marketing better — so you could feel more confident in your decisions, and hire the right people to execute.

What if you had a clear understanding of marketing strategy so you could take your business’s growth into your own hands?

What if you could stop outsourcing every word — and finally write copy yourself that gets the results of expensive (and not always available) copywriters?

Yes, I want to take charge of my marketing

and maybe write my own copy too

WHat's inside the business owner track?

You are a...

DESIGNER WHO WANTS TO OFFER MORE

Design is fulfilling.
And you’re good at it.

But you’re finding that more and more clients just expect you to magically provide copy and marketing advice.

(Even when you’re not sure yourself.)

And even the more aware clients — they want a one-stop-shop.
Especially with the kind of quality and service they’re used to getting from you.

They want to clone you to strategize and write their copy too.
And you wouldn’t mind.

It’s not just the upsell potential (although that would be amaaaazing).
It’s the fact that all copywriters are NOT created equal.

Sometimes the copy you get is

  • smooth
  • compelling
  • clear...

It sings.

Other times
(let’s face it,
many times
),
the copy has to be

  • massaged
  • brought back to life
  • delicately, of course — so you don’t devastate the copywriter and completely burn bridges.

Not to mention that finding + retaining top copywriting talent is tough:

It’s expensive

($4500 for a 4 page website?!?)

It’s annoying

(Your client: “Can’t I just work with YOU?”)

And come tight deadlines, it’s impossible

(“A 3-week wait? But I need it in 2 hours!”)

Problem is, you don’t feel confident around marketing strategy.
You also don’t have a rubric to evaluate copy.

You know when you’re looking at good copy, a good campaign — but what is it that actually makes it good?

You hate feeling like you can’t control your entire business.

What if you knew enough marketing and messaging strategy to train a great copywriter in-house?

Or — what if you could write strategic copy yourself?

Hear from copywriters

“Comprehensive, clear, and informative”

I had tried a couple of copywriting courses here and there, but none of them did it for me. I never left feeling like I knew what I was doing.

I was worried CopyTribe would be the same. It wasn't.

The course was so comprehensive, clear, and informative that as a CT7 grad, I feel 100% confident to approach someone and say, "Hey, can I write your website?"

— Chani Karp CT7,
Copywriter

“I was able to move into work that better supports my family"

A few months after completing CT7, I landed a new job as an email strategist.

I was able to step away from juggling multiple projects and move into work that's more meaningful, specialized, and better supports my family.

I’m so grateful to Hashem and to Michal for being the shaliach with her awesome CopyTribe training, resources, and connections!

— Leeba Kaplan CT7,
Email Strategist

“You learn by doing — the best way to learn”

CopyTribe took me from total newbie to someone with confidence and real-life experience (including a taste of working with real clients). That is the best result a course can provide.

Plus, I got my first paid projects directly through the CopyTribe community!

— Silvia Adamyova CT5,
Copywriter & Content Writer

Hear from designers

“I gained incredible knowledge — and an amazing network”

I’m a graphic designer with a strong affinity for writing. Before CopyTribe, I had dabbled in copywriting, but never felt fully confident.

I gained an incredible amount of knowledge and skills from the course, and I’ve been using them to launch a new side to my career.

My clients appreciate having one person who can take care of all their marketing, and I'm grateful to be able to offer both.
I could not be more thrilled with my decision to join CopyTribe!

— Meira Mirkin CT7,
Graphic Designer & Copywriter, meiramirkincreative.com

“I moved from designer to leading the creative department”

I started as a graphic designer, but making things look pretty wasn’t enough. I wanted to understand the strategy so I could help make things work, not just take orders.

CopyTribe set me on the path from designer to leading the agency’s creative department, and I can say with confidence the course was absolutely worth the investment.

— Mindy Kaplan CT5,
Creative Director, BrandHero

“If you really want to gain, you need hands-on learning”

I loved that we had to do the assignments — I really absorbed the material better and gained measurable benefits. Other courses I have taken in the past sorely lacked this — I would listen and even take some notes — but without hands-on learning I walked away without gaining true benefits.

Chaya Miller CT2,
artisandesignstudio.co

Hear from business owners

“I’m already seeing the gains in my business”

As a published author with an enthusiastic audience, I knew my writing was a marketing opportunity I wasn’t utilizing. I joined CopyTribe to learn how to make my writing more strategic, so I could write not just to inform, but promote my fertility clinic more effectively.

Michal took what could have been dry, technical material and showed me how to make it engaging, relevant, and easy to understand. I was surprised how much my skills advanced in just a few months.

I gained a lot of practical information, much of which I was immediately able to apply to my work! Even before the course was over, I was already seeing the gains in my business.

— Dr. Yael Tusk CT7,
Founder, The TCM Jerusalem Fertility Clinic

“My marketing results were excellent”

As a business owner, I wanted to learn to write my own copy and manage my marketing — well. So I took CopyTribe.

I learned so much from Michal's well-organized classes, which were packed with high-quality copywriting fundamentals.

I used the skills to write the copy for my website, and recently implemented the techniques in my marketing materials for two trade shows as well — and the results were excellent.

— Ruth Hertz CT7,
Founder, EdBoosters.com

“CopyTribe changed the trajectory of my career”

Every year, I’d read — and re-read — the launch emails, but something always held me back from signing up. I’m a writer, but I wasn’t sure I’d like copywriting — I thought it would restrict my creative freedom and be too business-y.
When I saw the announcement for CopyTribe 6.0, I thought: let me try. Maybe this could work for me.

Now all I can say is... I'm so grateful. I now know how to write copy and run a successful copywriting business — my eyes have been opened to this diverse, expansive field. I love the variety of projects I’ve been honored to work on. It’s hard to imagine why I’d ever thought
copy wasn’t for me.

CopyTribe was a gift that changed the trajectory of my career — and my life.

— Naomi Raksin CT7, Copywriter and magazine writer

"The best copywriting course I've taken"

I worked as an in-house copywriter at a medical school and contracted with top-tier agencies like Ogilvy and Razorfish, but I still felt there were gaps in my knowledge and skill sets. So I took a number of online copywriting courses. My experience confirms that CopyTribe is the BEST in terms of the organization of its content, feedback, support, and accountability.

I particularly value the detailed reviews and assignments. Completing these assignments honed my skills in copywriting AND strategy. It also helped me expand my existing portfolio. I am also grateful for the bonds I built with my copy coaches and fellow Tribers. They are helping me move forward so I feel empowered and supported.

CopyTribe is a high-ticket programme — but worth every dollar and minute spent.

— Eloïse Lau CT6, Copywriter

Hiiiiiii! I’m Michal.

Speaker. Mentor. Copywriter. Marketing Strategist.
Mother of six. Recovering caramel ice cream addict.

Back in 2017, I was a frazzled (and underpaid) feature writer, agency copywriter, and part-time speech therapist — embracing every job under the sun and convincing myself I should feel happy getting arachis hypogaea (AKA peanuts).

I loved my work — it was stimulating, meaningful, and challenging — but I felt scattered...and somewhat resentful. Deep down, I knew I was giving far more value than the payments that plopped into my bank account.

I also wished I had more money for extras — and didn’t have to think a MILLION times before treating myself to a new handbag! Maybe even…

  • ★    Therapy?
  • ★    A self-care Target run?
  • ★    Extra cash for a getaway vacation?

In 2017, I launched a proper copywriting business and went all in — and within eighteen months, 10xed my monthly revenue.

(^^Sharing this because I want you to know that “grow your income” is not just a catchphrase on this page.)

This career move proved so transformational for me and my family that I created CopyTribe to help others achieve the same.

What started as a way to help fellow writers has grown into something bigger: CopyTribe now helps people establish themselves across different marketing roles  — designers become strategic marketers, business owners step into the marketing director seat with confidence, and talented people get to launch flexible, stimulating careers that help pay the bills.

What I believe: Nobody should feel trapped in a dead-end, soul-sucking job.
To that end, I'm determined to help driven people acquire the skills they need to earn more, doing what they love.

I’ve had the honor of training 600+ creatives and freelancers in my programs, and today they are doing a range of amazing things, from running their own businesses to leading strategy to freelancing while prioritizing family.

If you're a strong writer and thinker who wants to become a certified copywriter and strategist, I’d be so honored to welcome you inside. 😊

Today, I run 3 live programs (CopyTribe, Profitable Freelancer, and ScaleTribe) alongside a boutique copywriting agency — with a team of 5 women from around the world.

“Michal is as good of a presenter as she is a writer.
And she’s one of the best writers I’ve ever known."

— Justin Blackman, prettyflycopy.com

“Once you try a resource from Michal,
it's hard for anyone else to match up."

Michal just has a way when it comes to crystallizing any topic, however new or complex. I've gotten so used to her style that any other tutorials or classes I've tried literally came across as dizzying. (Yes, world-renowned pros, I'm looking at you.)

It's not their fault. It's just that once you try a resource from Michal, whether her classes, membership groups, or project walkthroughs, it's hard for anyone to match up. You come away a million times cleverer and are always glad you invested the time or money.

— C.S. Teitelbaum CT3, CST Copy

“One of the best speakers we ever had."

When we asked Michal to speak at our event, we knew she would be good — she's a perfectionist after all. But wow...she was fantastic. Everyone was on the edge of their seats. She combines riveting stories with actionable advice that keep people listening. She's one of the best speakers we've ever had.

— Rob Marsh, The Copywriter Club

“Thank you Michal, for empowering frum women to acknowledge their value.”

I am so grateful to have discovered a skill that I love exercising as a means of supporting my family. I'm passionate about the power of the frum woman, and am a longstanding advocate of women showing up and acknowledging their value — and getting paid what they deserve!

Thank you Michal for empowering frum women through this course so they might be able to move past $10 an hour medical billing jobs. Thank you for providing the comprehensive classes, the thorough research and the support and advice that has enabled us all to access this valuable industry.

“You will not find a better teacher than Michal.”

Sure, she has an incredible gift for structuring information in a way that just goes into your brain and stays there. But way more important? She really really — and I mean really really — cares about your success. Yes, even if you're student #589 in her 8th cohort.

The level of commitment Michal gives her community is beyond compare. I don't know how she does it (and she makes it look effortless too!) but the support you get from CopyTribe is unparalleled. And that — more than any of the very many skills you'll gain in the program — is what will transform your career.

“Perfect balance of information, space to ask, and humor!”

CopyTribe was intense — but so worth it!

The classes were detailed and clear, practical and enjoyable, with the perfect balance of information, space to ask questions, and even humor.

I loved how the assignments were designed to feel like real client work. None of it was just conceptual. And the camaraderie, the chance to ask peers and experienced copywriters for help, was so valuable.

—  Rivka Doman CT7, Copywriter

“The assignments were a huge confidence boost”

Every single part of CopyTribe was so well done.

Michal's classes were crystal clear, and the assignments were fantastic. They helped me consolidate everything we learned and prove to myself that I can do this.

I loved the detailed, in-depth feedback on the assignments: the more comments, the better! They were a huge confidence boost, and showed me exactly what I did well and what could be improved.

All the moderators were fabulous, and the Slack group has been awesome! So many eye-opening copy examples, tips, techniques, resources, and questions. It's also helped me form wonderful connections with other CopyTribe members.

What can I say? I'm grateful I joined!

"CopyTribe showed me clearly: I can do it!"

As a newer copywriter, I considered CopyTribe because I felt stuck: I had no clients, but was hesitant to market myself because I lacked experience. CopyTribe was the perfect combination of copy skills & business, plus the accountability to make sure I stuck with it.

The assignments enormously impacted my confidence. First, they forced me to sit down and write the darn thing. And I was blown away by the HUGE difference it makes when you get your copy critiqued. The feedback was thoughtful, respectful, and full of detail — I learned a lot and felt very supported.

— Judith Hyams CT5, Conversion Copywriter

“Since CopyTribe, all other classes are boring”

Michal and the whole CopyTribe staff consistently overdelivered on EVERYTHING. It's clear they wanted us to succeed.

I didn't think I would enjoy the course even half as much as I did. 😊
I looked forward to each of the classes and assignments and was genuinely disappointed when we had a break.

Since I started CopyTribe, all other classes are boring compared to Michal's.

I recommend CopyTribe to everyone I meet!

— B.G., Copywriter, Lakewood

"I felt very supported"

I was amazed at the level of thought and detail. It wasn't surprising, because I'd heard it was a good program, but the details were impressive. Everything was so well-organized, from the class structure to the challenges and even the schedules.

I also felt very supported, because I knew I could always ask questions if I didn't understand something. It was very clear that I wasn't alone.

AI and the Great Rebundling
How to Stay Indispensable When Everyone’s Using the Same Tools

Depending on how you use it, AI can be your biggest asset or your biggest trap.
Backed by three decades of experience in marketing and sales, Ed Gandia trains writers, marketers, and creative teams to use AI with strategy and intention — turning it from “another thing to figure out” into a reliable workflow partner that streamlines work and strengthens results. Today, he’s one of the leading voices helping marketers, writers, and business owners use AI to boost efficiency — without letting become a crutch.

In this masterclass, Ed shares the tools and mindset that make AI your creative ally — one that saves time, sharpens ideas, and amplifies your best work without diluting your voice.

In this bonus masterclass from Ed, you’ll learn:

  • How to integrate AI into your process (without letting it take over)
  • Practical uses for custom GPTs that save time and improve output
  • The secret to writing faster while keeping your human touch

  • The mindset shift that turns AI from a time-saver into a long-term growth tool

This all looks very interesting, Michal.
But is CopyTribe for
me??

CopyTribe 8.0 is NOT for you if you…

  • Cannot carve out 4-7 hours on average each week (for 32 weeks) for classes, assignments, and Slack interaction — all crucial elements to growing your skills and your network.
  • Are not prepared to invest significant effort to develop your skills, find a job, or if freelancing, invest in building authority, marketing your services, and growing your network in order to get in front of clients. (We teach you exactly how to do this in Profitable Freelancer. But you need to do the work.)
  • Expect to immediately land a $6K/month job as you break into a new field (this is NOT a get-rich-quick scheme).

CopyTribe 8.0 is PERFECT for you if you are…

  • An excellent writer
  • Driven
  • Self-motivated
  • Tech-savvy (or willing to try new things)
  • Financially prepared to spend the next 1-2 years building a career and breaking into a new field
  • Age 21+

    Under 21? Apply here

Sound like you?
I cannot wait to welcome you
to CopyTribe 8.0. 😊

THIS SOUNDS LIKE ME!

I would thrive in this creative, stimulating, flexible career.

But, but...what about AI?

Has the value of copy gone down?
What new skills are essential for marketers to learn?
What can an aspiring copywriter do to stay relevant?
Is AI going to replace copywriters in the future?

My take (Cliff Notes version):

Yes, AI is powerful.
But it’s no substitute for a strategic marketer.

Direction still matters.

AI follows instructions. To get great output, you have to know what you’re doing — and how to steer the ship.

Mediocrity in, mediocrity out.

Even with smart prompting, most AI-generated copy sounds… like a robot. Unless you spend as much time prompting as you would writing, it’s meh.

So...will AI replace copywriters?

If your writing is weak and not strategy-backed, yes.
But if you know how to write with music, story, and substance — and you understand strategy — then, AI becomes your (invaluable!) sidekick, not your competitor.

At CopyTribe, graduates don’t just write great copy.
They become thinkers, strategists, and problem-solvers that clients come to see as indispensable partners.

“CopyTribe enabled me to give up my less-profitable work and turn to copy as my main job”

I always loved writing, but my professional opportunities felt limited. I didn't see a lot of room for growth. That changed when I signed up for CopyTribe. Not only did the course introduce me to a new field, it gave me foundational skills for navigating it. My business didn't exist before this course. CopyTribe enabled me to give up my less-profitable jobs and complete copy projects as my main job — and I love the work and flexibility!

I gained so much from the positive energy and support — everyone loves the authenticity and camaraderie of Slack, and I've gotten great referrals from fellow CopyTribers. There's no refuting the value of this course.

— Shevi Handelsman CT2, The Copy Concierge

“I’ve been seeing doors open for me in the writing world”

I expected to have difficulty getting a grip on the material and applying myself to the completely new field of copywriting, but CopyTribe's comprehensive, hands-on approach — along with its supportive Slack community — allowed me to easily grasp and apply my newbie knowledge.

The assignments really consolidated the material for me, and I found the copy critique extremely helpful. I also appreciated the opportunity to get acquainted with and learn from experienced copywriters, forge new connections (and make new writing friends!) in the Slack group, and learn from the cohort's active give-and-take.

Thanks to CopyTribe, I’ve already been seeing doors open for me in the writing world — in areas that were never accessible before.

— Shifra Ebbing CT7, Content Editor & Writer

“A thrilling and rewarding experience”

After months of intense learning, I gained a wealth of knowledge and a variety of skills — and feel confident taking on work that I was previously uneasy accepting.

Doing hands-on practice and getting targeted critique and expert advice was especially valuable to me. And I felt privileged to be part of a fun, growth-oriented, vibrant community of creatives — from which I learned so much!

I'm grateful I took CopyTribe. This has been, without question, the most thrilling and rewarding learning experience!

— Pessy Goldberg CT7, Copywriter

Concerned about ribbis?

Concerns about the prohibition of paying and accepting interest (“ribbis”)

The nature of paying for a course is such that, for students who pay in installments, the total of all the installments is the real price. For students who elect to pay all upfront, the “upfront price” includes a discount that is awarded for early payment. Therefore, students who forfeit the early-payment-discount by choosing not to pay upfront are not transgressing the prohibition of paying interest (provided that the final installment is paid no later than the day on which the course ends). Additionally, students who receive the discounted price by electing to pay all upfront, are not transgressing the prohibition of receiving interest, since they begin receiving value immediately upon payment (they'll receive a proprietary PDF resource via email immediately after purchase).

Will I be able to upgrade to the Profitable Freelancer segment at a later date?

Yes, but the price will be higher. If there’s a good chance you’ll want to operate as a freelancer, consider locking in the package price now.

A 30-day money-back guarantee for you

We're so confident in this certification program, we offer a money-back guarantee. If you spend 30 days in this program and don't feel it's a good fit for you...

Just contact us and you'll get your money back
(minus a non-refundable $150 registration fee).

NO QUESTIONS ASKED.

Wow, this is expensive!
Couldn’t I take a cheaper copywriting course?

Yes! You could totally find cheaper courses out there.
The reason: CopyTribe is not a digital course; it's a university-level certification program.

There's a reason it costs more:
  • because it works.
  • because people actually complete it.
  • because people actually FIND SUCCESS.
  • because it’s a transformative program — not just information you have to wade through.
If you would consider spending $10K, $20K, $30K on a degree —
realize that this is a university-level program packed into 8 thrilling months.

Except this one doesn’t just teach you — it equips you. To earn meaningfully, work flexibly, and build a career that’s stimulating, sustainable, and genuinely satisfying.

CopyTribe includes live (and fun!) classes, but most importantly, deep accountability in the form of expert-critiqued assignments.

When you get

  • live classes
  • personal guidance
  • expert critiques
  • a supportive community

This drives up the cost, but ultimately, makes the course worth your investment (because you gain the skills you need to thrive).

Bottom Line:

We’ve heard this from dozens of graduates: they’ve taken other courses and even earned degrees, but CopyTribe is the program they completed — and the one that propelled them forward in their careers.

TRUTH:
Coaching & critiques are a
superpower

→ Many copywriters spend $1000s on coaching, mentoring, and critiques when they start out. Because without experienced eyes on your copy, how can you know you produce work your clients should pay for?

Some programs offer minimal critique… but no one is holding you accountable to send in your copy.

Some programs have assignments…but no one reviews them to see if you’re on the right track.

CopyTribe is built around carefully crafted assignments which are
critiqued & scored by pro copywriters.

“What is the MOST valuable part of   ?"

Ask any CT grad and get the same answer: the critiqued assignments. Without hands-on implementation — and pointed, in-depth critique — all that learning would fuzzify FAST. 💨

Because this isn’t high school.

The assignments hold you accountable. And the instructive comments + motivating feedback from experienced copywriters sharpen your skills and empower you to keep improving.

What does critique look like?

Actual comments that CopyTribe coaches made on submitted assignments:

“I walked away from each class with skills I could use immediately”

What a comprehensive, richly developed course!I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy the learning.

Michal’s classes were brilliant — insightful, thorough, and SUPER clear!! She was so well-prepped, used neat slides, and explained everything in a way that was understandable and tangible. I walked away from each class with skills I could use immediately.

The assignments took everything up a notch. They forced me to stay on track, apply what I was learning, and enabled me to gauge my skills.Using the wealth of knowledge and skills I gained, I’ve already started seeing success in my own projects.

— Malka Herzog CT7, Copywriter

“What I've learned over the last few months would have taken years”

I appreciate learning in a goal-oriented environment, where study is serious and progress is rapid and steady. I had heard that CopyTribe would fit the bill, and it did not disappoint. What I've learned over the past few months would have taken years to accomplish independently.

Beyond the skills I gained, CopyTribe built my confidence. I now feel comfortable calling myself a copywriter — something I was hesitant to do beforehand. I also have polished samples I can share with prospective clients.

I've made wonderful connections, too! The community is full of professionalism and talent, and it’s inspiring to be part of a group that cheers me on as I carve out my career.

— Miri Katzauer CT7, Copywriter

“The best business investment I made.”

If you're looking for just another copywriting course, CopyTribe is not for you.CopyTribe is THE gold standard because it's a copy + business incubator that is career-transforming. It teaches you every *single* thing you need to run a successful copy business.

Taking CopyTribe was the best business investment I made. It kickstarted my business, and I went from treading the muddy freelancing waters to having clarity and confidence in what I was doing. If you’re serious about building a copywriting business, CopyTribe is exactly what you need.

— Hannah Lipschutz CT2, hannahlipschutz.com

And they thrive in roles like these:

Aliza Agress
Copywriter at 14 Minds

USA

I work at a marketing agency specializing in nonprofits — and I love it. It's fulfilling and meaningful, and I’m using the talents Hashem gave me to do good and help worthy causes. Working for an agency means I don’t have to worry about lead gen, project management, and marketing; I get to focus on writing. I also love collaborating with a talented team, being able to bounce ideas off each other, and working with really skilled strategists and designers to create something that's so much bigger than the sum of its parts. I get to see my work come alive and be an integral part of that process.

Chana Weisman
Copywriter at ForwardSlashNY

Israel

I love my job! I get to e-meet really cool clients and learn about unique industries, while bouncing from different project types just to keep things interesting. It's also an awesome way to get a finger in every pie and find my copywriting strengths and passions. I get to work from home which has major perks, like PJs, left-over Shabbos dessert and short 2-hour naps. Working for an agency is great because you can say goodbye to pitching, onboarding, and icky finance talk and just write, research, and gain a wealth of experience.

Rachel Lam
Copywriter at Zaks Design Studio
USA

I’m a remote copywriter at Zaks Design Studio, a branding and educational design agency that helps creators turn instructional and developmental ideas into cohesive, market-ready products. I enjoy the collaboration that comes with agency work, learning from my team’s insights, and growing through the exchange of ideas. With the agency's focus on educational design, I can apply my teaching background directly to my copywriting, adding clarity and depth to every project. CopyTribe gave me the training, structure, and confidence to turn my love of writing into a profession, and for that, I’m forever grateful.

Chavi Klein
Copywriter at Tactic Marketing
UK

I landed my dream job in a marketing agency a year after graduating CopyTribe. Once I got over the learning curve, it was exactly what I'd been trained to do (just a lot more fun ). I love the writing, the group brainstorming (okay, chatting) sessions, and feeling like I have a finger in every pie in the city. I love the energy of working with a team who gets excited about all the same nerdy marketing things. I love that I need to get dressed in the morning and that I get to talk to humans. And I love that once I step out of Tactic's cool glass doors, work is d-o-n-e.

Adam Kirsch
Copywriter, AdamKirsch.co

Israel

On a quest to find the secret of turning raw writing talent into reliably profitable income, I discovered copywriting ― and never looked back. Now a conversion copywriter and messaging strategist for B2B SaaS, I help fast-growing tech companies get results like 80% conversion lifts with optimized web and landing pages. When not at my desk, the flexibility of being a business owner gives me plenty of time to pursue my other passion ― Talmudical research.

Morgan Hugoboom
Copywriter & Blog Manager, MorganHugoboom.com
USA

Working as a freelance writer allows me to build a business without sacrificing other priorities like time with my family. I love the flexibility that comes with my career, whether it's the freedom to choose my projects (and my clients!) or the ability to create my own schedule.

Suri Landau
Freelance Copywriter

They say, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” I get to do what I love every single day, and it still blows my mind! Freelancing gives me the dream combo: I work full-time writing copy for clients across many industries, while still having the freedom to be there for a kid who’s under the weather, swap a laundry load, or take a quick brisk walk around the block. It took a lot of hustle, agency collabs, and outreach to build my client base, but CopyTribe gave me the confidence, skills, and supportive Slack community that helped me get here and still keeps me growing.

Esti Bald

Esti Bald
Director of Development, Links

USA

I'm responsible for all marketing and communications, both inward and outward facing. I also support the director in program development, fundraising, and donor stewardship. What I like about my current setup: I'm doing work I love, for and with people I genuinely like and admire. I feel extremely privileged that my work is making a positive difference in the lives of grieving children. While I do work full-time, I have a lot of flexibility, which allows me to be present for my family in a way a traditional 9-5 job wouldn't. And I appreciate that I get to be involved in a lot of different types of projects, but I don't have to worry about keeping my pipeline full or new client onboarding because it's all for one client who I know and love.

Chana Gross

Chana Gross
Director of Marketing, Circle Care Services

USA

I develop and oversee all marketing initiatives for our company, including email marketing,  SEO & PPC campaigns, as well as internal programs to nurture our clients and retain our staff. I love it because I'm kind of my own boss. I get to know our clients better and better. And I work with other professionals in the marketing space and learn new things every single day. I get to work on diverse projects. and I love the fact that I can use my analytical brain together with my creative brain to help a company grow. It's so satisfying to watch, especially because I work at a startup. To be with one company and watch how they're growing and how their marketing supports their business goals is very exciting.

Penina Ostroff
Marketing Director, Akoya Behavioral Health
USA

CopyTribe gave me the tools and foundational knowledge I needed to start out on my own in copywriting. Experience backed by on-the-job learning helped me grow into my current role as Marketing Director at Akoya Behavioral Health. I still write copy, but now I’m more focused on the big picture. I have to stay on top of the various marketing channels and make sure they're all working in tandem. The website, social media, referral sources, events, and even staff and client retention initiatives. It's all about testing ideas, seeing what works, and using insights to shape the next move. I love the combination of creativity and strategy — it keeps both sides of my brain active!

Mindy Kaplan
Creative Director at BrandHero
USA

Today, I work alongside David Konigsberg, leading the creative and branding department at BrandHero. But it wasn’t always this way. I started my journey as a designer, which gave me my first real taste of marketing. I quickly realized I didn’t want to just design; I wanted to steer the ship, shape strategy, and make decisions that actually matter. That realization led me to CopyTribe. Adding copywriting to my skillset was a game-changer, and combined with my design background and years of agency experience, it gave me the foundation that led me to the role I have today.

Miriam Epstein

Miriam Epstein
Remote content writer for
Avenues Recovery Center

Israel

What I love about my job is that I get to use my G-d given writing talent. The pay is good and my hours are flexible so I can work whenever I want, leaving time for other copywriting jobs and doing things I love like attending shiurim and swimming.

Faigy Feifer
Copywriter at
Woodpeckers Crafts

USA

The beauty of working as a copywriter in-house is that you get to work with a team. You get to see the bigger picture of your marketing efforts, and you learn a lot more that way.
CopyTribe gave me copywriting training. Working with Woodpeckers Crafts gives me knowledge of SEO and SaaS tools. And then I get to use those skills in projects for my private clients.

Brocha Birnbaum
Email Strategist at an ecommerce company
USA

I started out as a copywriter in an ecommerce company and, over time, took on the role of email marketer. I love email marketing because it’s the perfect mix of strategy and creativity — writing copy, mapping out customer journeys and testing ideas, and seeing the results in real time. But the best part of my job is getting to take products home to try out (for research, of course). I applied for the job fresh out of CopyTribe, and it was largely due to CopyTribe's foundations and community that I had the confidence to go for it and succeed.

Huvie Wax
Copywriter at a startup
USA

As an in-house copywriter at a SaaS/healthcare startup, I manage all marketing for two large accounts — from sales decks and websites to onboarding emails and in-app copy. I love the social side of the work — collaborating with a team, bouncing ideas around, and working with friends. But one of the best parts of being in-house is the stability and the space to slowly build my own brand on the side, taking on freelance projects strategically and selectively. The skills and confidence I gained through CopyTribe have played a big role in helping me succeed here.

Kayla Fogelman
Project Manager & Assistant at JLI
USA

As Project Manager, every day is an adventure! Will I be working with the bigwigs in Upper Management today? Collaborating with the Design and Print teams to make sure something gets published on time? Who knows! It’s a rollercoaster of work, fun, and the adrenaline of finishing a project juusssst before it’s due. I draft emails and proposals, mediate the best words to use when teams need to get their vision across clearly, and keep everything running on schedule — all communication skills that are threaded throughout CopyTribe. And even though I don’t work as a copywriter, having that background definitely helps me speak the lingo and bridge the gaps between teams. As an added perk of the job: I work in a fully frum environment, which means I end early on Fridays and get the whole Yomim Tovim (including Chol Hamoed!) off.

Suri Jerusalem

Suri Jerusalem
Founder,
Paradigm MarketingUSA

I spent a decade crunching numbers for nursing homes, dreaming of a job that fueled me with passion. My roles consisted of digits while words called my name. CopyTribe 3.0 catapulted my industry expertise into my dream reality — writing healthcare marketing communications propelled by insider insight. A reality called Paradigm Marketing.

No words can describe the contentment that my current lifestyle brings. The satisfaction in trading in my 9-3 regimented schedule for a relaxed work-from-home lifestyle that allows for spontaneous lunch dates and home-cooked meals. Don't get me wrong, there's hard work, deadlines and late nights. But along with that — the sheer satisfaction of loving my job and having the power to prioritize.

Flawless Designs Logo

Malka Glick (Porges)
CEO at
Flawless Designs
USA

I run a mini marketing agency.

CopyTribe helped me grow my business to where it is today by giving me the tools to offer my clients the marketing-know-how and copywriting, along with design.

I get on calls and produce work for clients that actually helps them grow their business and achieve success. There’s nothing more gratifying than that.

Rachel Segal
Founder, RachelSegal.co
UK

I recently launched a micro agency focusing on end-to-end marketing and complete charity campaigns. Alongside this, I freelance for 2 local agencies as their exclusive copywriter and marketing strategist. When building my agency, I specifically focused on campaigns as I enjoy directing projects to a successful finish rather than being involved for just one step of the process. Another highlight of my job is the variety and flexibility: one day I’m writing ads for a clothing brand, the next week I’m laying out a detailed brochure for an emotional NPO, and the week after, I’m out of office while my toddler is off playgroup. In my 2 years since entering the field, I have yet to experience a day of burnout or boredom!

Agency owners and designers appreciate CT grads
because they prefer copywriters who write with strategy

CopyTribe alumni have been hired by these cool companies

Some work in-house, some as freelancers.
All of them enjoy fulfilling, flexible copywriting careers.

After CopyTribe:
How much can you expect to make?

Any serious career-training program is an investment.
What income can you expect with a marketing or copywriting career?

If you're looking to land a job

- Full-time in-house copywriter salaries range from $50-90K.

- If you’re new to the world of writing, marketing, or copywriting, we recommend you
start in-house.

- If you are open to accepting various marketing roles or working in-office, there are many
opportunities available.

- If you need a highly specific role, very flexible hours, or a 100% remote position right at the start of your career, it will be harder to land a job.

If you're looking to freelance

- Freelance copywriters make anywhere from $30K/year to $250K/year.

-It varies widely because of the flexibility: you can take on as many or as few projects as you’d like. You can work as many or as few hours as you’d like.

- Grads who put in consistent 5-7 hour days (working from home! 🎉) have seen around $50-70K/year and above, some making much more than that.

- If you’re new to the field, you will not be able to command great rates at the start.

- But after some time and experience, here are actual prices that our graduates are charging as freelancers

Typical Prices for Copywriting Projects
(swiped directly from my Copywriter’s Ultimate Guide to Pricing)

Blog Post Package

4 blog posts/month

$800

Brochure Copy

Trifold brochure
Strategy + Copy + Design Collaboration

$500 - $750

Fundraising letters

Standard 2-page letter

$350 - 500

Ad Copy

Concept + copy (for one ad)

$250 - $350

Some of our grads make back their investment within months.Others make it back within 1-2 years.

But nearly all our grads have made back their investment many times over.

The speed at which you progress depends on your prior experience, your professional network, your capacity for projects, and your openness to different kinds of marketing positions.

“...For my first website since the program, I charged $850 for a 4-page site. (I will not tell you what I charged for the first website I ever did!) Since then I'm charging $1200 to $1500 for more basic, and $1800 and up for more complex.”

“...between $500 to $800 for a basic homepage / about / contact / services site”

“...For my first two websites I did $500 and $600 for a single page website. Today I'd charge a minimum of $1900 for a single page and upwards of $2200 for a full website.”

“...My first website — 4 core pages — I charged $750 because it was my first and I wanted the job. I would charge at least $1,500 now.”

“...I signed with a marketing agency for a 4 page website at $1500.”

“...I just told a guy $850 for a home + about page.”

“...I charged $950 for 3 pages.

"Wait. Do I need to be a hustler?"

If you’d like to become a freelance copywriter and be your own boss,
yes — you’ll need to

  • market yourself
  • build a strong network
  • work hard to get leads.

If you’re okay with marketing yourself and are driven to accomplish your goals, freelance copywriting can be lucrative and fulfilling. The earning potential is high. (Some of our highest-earning freelance grads earn $300K+ a year.)

But if you don’t want to have to market yourself, you can work for a company as an in-house copywriter, join a marketing agency, or subcontract for more experienced copywriters. You'll have lower earning power, but you won’t have to generate leads or find clients. You’ll also have the added bonus of working with (and learning from) talented creatives with years of experience.

Do you provide support with finding jobs?
Job placement is not included in CopyTribe 8.0.

We make no guarantees about job placement because we only promise things that are directly within our control.
That said, we do whatever we can to match our grads with leads. Nearly 100% of our grads say that their first few jobs were opportunities found through the CopyTribe community.

We share leads as regularly as we can, while serving as ongoing matchmakers with our extensive network of agency owners and creatives.

Nothing makes us happier than setting up a CT grad with a fantastic role or project. 😀

Again, job placement is not included and not guaranteed.

While we make every effort to help our graduates land quality positions, ultimately, it will be your responsibility to pursue job opportunities and network as needed until you find a position that fits your strengths and skillset.

Frequently Asked Questions

What thoughtful people have asked before enrolling

Because on this night we eat only matzah!

Kidding. We 💓 fluffy carbs in these parts.

CopyTribe 8.0 is the only training program in existence that

  • comprehensively combines copy skills + business management skills — so you don’t just learn how to write good copy, you learn how to run a sustainable business
  • caters to the frum community (with a dedicated women’s cohort, plus a general cohort open to men), so you feel a powerful sense of comfort & camaraderie — and you build relationships and a valuable network for life
  • integrates ultimate accountability with assignments, check-ins, and deadlines — so the videos and content don’t just sit there, languishing on your hard drive for eternity.

Yes. All training sessions take place on Zoom and are recorded so you can watch them later on your online course dashboard. (Recordings cannot be downloaded.)

Here’s the thing: as a copywriter, you need Internet access anyway — to write high-performing copy. There’s research you’ll have to do for each project, plus important online resources to keep you current in the field.

BUT there are lots of solid filtering options available. And if it’s a dealbreaker, you don’t have to let any level of Internet into your home: several CopyTribe alumni rent office space. (They also love that when the day is over, work is over.)

For CopyTribe 8.0, you’ll need to access:

- Google Suite (Drive)
- Slack
- Zoom
- Podia
- Wistia
- Canva
(You won't need to pay anything to access these platforms.)

Note: The NetFree filter is not compatible with CopyTribe as it blocks videos with women in it. This will limit your ability to complete the program properly. Our members have successfully used filters like Techloq and Gentech.

It's intense. 😊 It's a college-level program, preparing you with all the fundamentals you’ll need to turn copywriting into a career.

If you're worried about fitting CopyTribe into your schedule, we can connect you to grads who had the same concern, and they can share their experience with you directly.
Speak to a grad

Members invest 4-7 hours per week, on average. There are ~2 hours of class each week, and ~2 assignments per month that must be completed by the deadline (usually 1 week from the date it was assigned). Before you commit, make sure you’ll have the time and headspace to get the most out of an 8-month, fast-paced program and ~bimonthly assignments that will prepare you to be a confident copywriter.

Those 4-7 hours will give you enough time for trainings + assignments + keeping up in Slack.
And by the end of this certification program:

  • You’ll have the frameworks, formulas and research tips that take the guesswork out of writing, so copy comes MUCH quicker
  • You’ll have learned client management + process techniques that will drastically cut down the (unbillable) time you spend on client back’n’forth
  • You may even have a beautiful portfolio + LinkedIn profile in place. Those things take forever to do on your own.

We totally understand. It's hard to properly complete a university-level program when your plate is overflowing and your life is very busy. If you feel like you're about to fall apart and you're at your breaking point, then this is not a good time for you to take this program.

If you're very busy but you can fit 4-7 hours a week into your schedule to dedicate to this program, then we warmly recommend you to take it. It only comes once a year and next year is not necessarily going to be any less busy for you.

We've had many people get married or give birth during the program and we make special adjustments and accommodations to allow them to better balance their personal and professional lives. If you're in that situation, we will make accommodations for you.

If you'd like to speak directly with a CT grad who had a major life milestone while taking the program, click here to fill out a form and we'll match you up.

While most CT registrants have some professional writing experience, many don’t…but this can actually work to your advantage. It’s much easier to learn new skills when you don’t have to unlearn the old ones first. In fact, that’s why CopyTribe is ideal for you — you get expert eyes on your work, polishing, suggesting, auditing, and improving.

BUT to be a good candidate, you do need to have:
- strong writing skills
- an interest in people
- a willingness to market yourself (or proactively apply for jobs) using the techniques we learn.

Most weeks, the 1-hour classes will take place on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays at 2 pm ET, via Zoom. Some weeks have two classes; some weeks have one.

If you're not able to attend live, you can always watch the recording which is available a day or two later. Many of our graduates only watched the recordings and it worked out well for them.

If you’re a business owner who wants to

- Learn copy & marketing fundamentals
- Stop outsourcing all your marketing
- Own and direct your own marketing with confidence

then the Business Owner track is for you.

The Profitable Freelancer track is for you if you want to go all in and set up a promising business.

You're super serious about launching a lucrative and enjoyable copywriting career, and you want to finish CopyTribe with comprehensive knowledge about how to run your business and manage clients. The modules, masterclasses, assignments, cheatsheets, and templates in the Profitable Freelancer segment will fast-track your growth as a freelance copywriter and enable you to freelance more successfully.

If you know you want to only work in-house or for agencies, and not do any work for private clients, the Confident Copywriter segment of the program is enough to give you the skills you need.

CopyTribe is offered to both men and women — in separate cohorts. There is a women-only cohort, and a general-audience cohort which is open to frum men as well.

No. You will have lifetime access to the recordings but you will need Internet access to watch them.

If you want to run a freelance business as a copywriter, you have to be willing and happy to market yourself. For the first 1-2 years, you’ll need to work hard to get leads and build a strong network with a stream of clients. That said, while it’s true that a freelance copywriter must be comfortable with some type of self-marketing, it need not be aggressive or braggy. We cover this topic in depth during the Profitable Freelancer segment.

But if you'd prefer to avoid marketing yourself at all, you can work for a company as an in-house copywriter. You'll need to proactively apply for jobs, and you'll have lower earning power, but you won't need to get leads or market your services.

Yes, they do! And no hard feelings. Sometimes, it's simply not a fit. So feel free to try it out and you will get your money back in full if you'd like to pull out.

I am definitely using marketing techniques to promote this course — I'd be a terrible teacher if I didn't! I use the very techniques I teach my students, because they're effective.

That said — any copy I write is about persuading the RIGHT person to join and get value.
If you're not a good fit, we’ll persuade you not to join the program.

And if you ARE a good fit, I will use every technique in my arsenal to help you make a sound, informed decision, because I believe in this program — I know it works, and I want you to be able to access the transformational outcome and career it offers.

We expect anywhere from 30 to 50 members in the cohort.

This year, there will be handpicked, go-to mentors who will get to know each member on a more individual basis and support them on a personal level throughout the program.

Because every single business needs marketing strategy and copy.

In New York State alone, there are 523,000 businesses. If you build your skills, there are thousands of businesses who potentially want your services. The key is to get in front of them, and communicate the value you bring (which we teach in the Profitable Freelancer segment of this training).

Michal personally delivers every module and you can ask her questions directly at the end of each class.

In addition, she answers questions posted in Slack (the messaging platform we use to host the CopyTribe community) once a week, along with multiple other experienced copywriters who are available to answer questions.

Yes, but the price will be $1000 higher. If there’s a good chance you’ll want to operate as a freelancer, consider locking in the package price now.

Yes. Scholarship applications will open November 14.

However, scholarship applications will not open until registration has closed, so if you don't get chosen to receive a scholarship, you won't have the opportunity to participate in this year’s cohort.

Is this a get-rich-quick career?
NO, it is not
If you're looking for a program that
will take you from zero-experience to

— this is not for you.
The magic of success happens when you combine:
Clarity

on us
Community
Execution
that's on you
We give you everything you need to start off on the right foot. And if you're like hundreds of our previous grads....
You'll put in the hard work
— and see good results.
But you persuade people for a living!
Why should I trust you?

I am definitely using persuasion techniques in the marketing of this program —
I'd be a terrible teacher if I didn't!

I use the very techniques that I teach my students, because they work.

BUT it's about persuading the RIGHT person to join and get value.

If you're not a good fit, we’ll persuade you not to join the program.

And if you ARE a good fit, I will use every technique in my arsenal to help you make a sound, informed decision, because I believe in this program — I know it works, and I want you to be able to access the outcome and career it offers.

All this said —

We invite you to hear it directly from CT grads themselves.

If you’d like to speak directly with a CT grad, click the button below and we’ll connect you with a graduate (or two or three) who is similar in terms of background and life situation.

LASTLY: you don't have to trust me.
Test-drive the program for 30 days.

IF it's not a good fit, you’ll get your money back — minus $150 deposit—no questions asked.
We've had plenty of people take us upon this offer, and we're always happy. You know yourself and your family and your life situation best. So no need to trust me — try the program and decide for yourself.

“Never a dull moment…worth every penny”

I think it would've taken me years to learn what Michal taught us in CopyTribe.

The classes were incredible! Never a dull moment, with Michal trying to squeeze out as much of her vast copy knowledge as she could.

I was concerned about the cost, but now that I'm on the other side, I can say that CopyTribe was worth every penny!

— Kayla Fogelman CT7, Project Manager, JLI

“The gems of copywriting, all in one place — I wish I would have taken this course years ago!”

I recently pitched myself to someone and sent them my CopyTribe assignments as samples of my work. They replied by asking me how much I charge.😇

Thanks to CopyTribe and the confidence I've developed over the last few months, I replied with a few estimates. The lowest number I quoted (that's with slashing 50% off Entry Level prices) will cover a huge chunk of the course tuition!

CopyTribe is the only way to go!!

— Shani Bodner CT7, Copywriter

“The assignment led to a real, paying job”

I joined CopyTribe because I enjoy writing, and the idea that I could turn that into a lucrative career was very enticing.

I was surprised at how fluff-free the classes were — just as Michal promised! Everything was extremely clear, and there was a healthy mix of solid material and interesting graphics and stories to keep things flowing. I gained some solid skills that I can put to use.

One of the highlights: the Welcome Email Sequence assignment actually led to a real, paying job!

— Shoshana Gross CT7, Copywriter & Magazine Writer

“Do I need Profitable Freelancer or not?”

The Profitable Freelancer segment is for copywriters who want to freelance — either full-time or alongside their day job.

In it, you’ll learn crucial skills:

How to find clients

How to manage clients

How to price projects

How to sell your services

How to create professional processes

and more.

If you want to freelance successfully, the Profitable Freelancer will save you from learning these the hard way.

(If you want to be an in-house or agency copywriter, you will benefit from the skills taught in Profitable Freelancer, but they’re not as crucial.)

Wait, is copywriting for me?

FAQs about copywriting as a career

Copywriting is writing that gets people to do something: buy, donate, register, click. It’s based heavily on principles of psychology and human behavior.

Nearly all businesses and organizations rely on some form of copy:

  • Websites
  • Emails
  • Social media captions
  • Product listings
  • Video scripts
  • Brochures

That doesn’t mean every business will pay for copywriting — or needs to pay for copywriting. Startups and new businesses may handle their copy in-house or choose to get mediocre copy from ChatGPT. But many businesses recognize the value in hiring a trained copywriter and marketing strategist to research and write their copy, and handle their marketing.

Goal
Deliverable examples

Copywriting
Persuade someone to do something: buy, donate, register, click.
Websites, brochures, emails

Content Writing
Educate people about something or “nurture” — offer free value so people appreciate the brand and want more to do with it
Blog posts, articles, emails, newsletters, case studies

You don’t have to choose one or the other. Many copywriters do both copy and content writing. Some specialize in certain types of deliverables or certain industries.
In CopyTribe, we cover the fundamentals of content writing but focus more on copywriting, which is a more specialized skill.

  • Freelance copywriters: These copywriters work for themselves. They have no boss, so their schedules and workloads are highly flexible, but they must expend significant efforts (and time) on marketing themselves and attracting clients. They also handle all of the client management themselves.
  • Agency copywriters: Marketing agencies employ these copywriters — sometimes on a salary basis, sometimes on a project basis. Often, the agency takes care of the research, so the copywriter may have no client contact at all; they literally just write the copy (and revise it). One of the biggest benefits of agency work is getting to collaborate with (and learn from) talented strategists with years of experience. Other benefits include a steady workflow without needing to go out and find clients, feedback from team members on your copy (particularly valuable for newer copywriters), and benefits, if you’re on salary. Some copywriters also enjoy not dealing with clients directly. Agencies typically pay lower rates than a copywriter could charge independently. But for many copywriters, the experience, steady pay, singular focus, and access to exciting, high-level projects more than compensates for the lower rate.
  • In-house copywriter: This is a copywriter employed by a company for all of that company’s copy needs. In this type of position, the copywriter throws themselves into the brand they work for and generally has access to in-depth marketing data from the company that helps them better assess the impact of their copy. They may also get experience writing a variety of types of copy, but generally do not have other copywriters on their team for bouncing ideas around or getting feedback. Copywriters may enjoy the stability of dealing with the same company, the same industry all the time, as well as the steady paycheck and benefits of working for a company.

There is no right or wrong way to be a copywriter. Many copywriters do a combination of these types of positions — taking on both agency work and their own freelance clients, for example, or working out a retainer position to do all the copy for a company.

Full-time copywriters (in-house or agency) may start at a salary around $50-70K per year, with their earning potential growing as their experience grows. Part-time agency copywriters can make anywhere between $25 and $90 per hour.

Income of freelance copywriters is highly dependent on: the number of hours they work each week, the extent of their marketing efforts, and their level of expertise. A newbie copywriter devoting significant time to copy may make between $1500-$2K per month initially, but as their network, experience, and portfolio grows, they can raise prices and take on more complex and higher-paying projects, leading to five-digit income months.

For experienced copywriters, opportunities like retainers and selling products they create themselves (e.g., courses, sets of templates, coaching packages) typically prove to be lucrative options as well.

As in any career, new copywriters will need to work for a lower salary until they build up their portfolio and gain in-the-trenches expertise.

A copywriter must be a strong writer; that’s an undeniable prerequisite. Other useful characteristics include strong communication, innate curiosity, an interest in psychology and human behavior. Creativity is beneficial in all types of copy, especially for more creative forms like ads, but it’s not at all necessary for every successful copywriter.

Some people assume a copywriter must be an extrovert loaded with self-confidence so they “sell” themselves. While it’s true that the freelance copywriter must be comfortable with some type of self-marketing, it need not be aggressive or braggy. As well, copywriters can work for agencies or in-house if they do not want to be marketing their own brand or business.

Every good copywriter starts their day with coffee. (Okay, maybe there are a couple exceptions.)

Copywriters will likely spend a good deal of their day writing, but before that can happen, they must invest time doing research to determine what they will be writing. Research can take the form of meeting with the client, interviewing the client’s customers, reviewing marketing research, assessing the client’s competitors, sometimes even googling and learning more about the industry that way.

For the copywriter with their own business, they’ll need to spend time on business development, whether that’s pitching agencies and clients, writing strategic LinkedIn posts, or cultivating relationships with parallel industry professionals.

They'll also need to keep on top of emails with current clients, with prospects, with customers; excellent communication is essential for productivity AND for satisfied clients.

Many copywriters devote time to honing their skill sets through courses and readings, and make sure to network with other copywriters for critique and advice (and general schmoozing. Our CopyTribe community excels in that regard 😉).

Copywriting is a flexible career: copywriters often determine what they want to work on and how much they want to make. Even in-house or agency copywriters often work remotely and set their own schedules.

No. Many copywriters are successful at networking and filling their schedules without social media. We cover many of these strategies in the Profitable Freelancer segment of the program. That said, social media – especially LinkedIn – is one very powerful (and zero-cost) way to build your reputation and attract clients.

If you aren’t going to be on social media, you’ll need to work harder at building relationships, leveraging your network, and generating leads. It can be done, and has been done successfully by many of our graduates.

Because some copy is genuinely sleazy. This kind of copy is vague, sensational, or exaggerated. For example — “This lotion will make you rich and bring world peace!” — the customer feels icky reading it.

In contrast, when copywriting accurately depicts a problem and then shows how the product or service is a solution for that problem — for example “This lotion locks in the moisture from your skin, so your dry, cracked hands start feeling better and healing” — the customer feels positive & hopeful and wants to get the product.

Good copywriting doesn’t aim to get people to spend money on stuff they don’t need. Good copywriting aims to move people toward a solution that will make a measurable difference in their lives.

As in any industry, you can use your skills for the good — or for the not-so-good. In this program, we teach you how to be a good copywriter whose copy you can feel great about. 😊

Hold on while we consult our crystal ball.

No one can guarantee the future. But here’s what we’re seeing in the industry right now:

AI is changing copywriting. That’s not a question.

Straightforward writing jobs like technical summaries or basic product descriptions are on their way out. So are copywriters who offer word salads without strategy behind them.

But strong copywriters — the ones who think like marketers, weave in buyer psychology, and use AI to enhance their already powerful work — they’re still in demand. In fact, they’re becoming more valuable as clients discover for themselves that shallow, generic output just doesn’t sell.

If you’re applying for CT8, you probably have raw writing talent. But if you want to succeed in the AI era, you’ll need to focus on learning the marketing strategy and techniques that’ll put you above AI.

Your day-to-day as a copywriter will look different than it would have a few years ago: Instead of writing outlines from scratch, you might generate and refine them. Instead of spending half an hour racking your brain for the best turn of phrase, you’ll get five options in seconds. But the direction, the judgment, the nuance — that’ll come from you.

Think of AI as a secretary: great at note-taking and giving you a head start, but not the one to trust with the overarching decisions.

TLDR:
If your writing is weak and you’re not willing to learn strategy — yes, AI will replace you.

But if you’re a strong writer who knows how to think like a marketer and direct AI, it won’t put you out of business. It will make you faster, more efficient, and more valuable to clients.

This opportunity
comes once a year

And consider this:

Any interactive copywriting program costs
$3-5K — and that's without personal critiques or mentoring.

Plus, most copywriting courses focus on copy skills only and don't give you any of the tools you need to understand how to market yourself and land actual clients.

CopyTribe is a unique, foundational program that you're actually going to complete
— and emerge from with the skills (and network!) you need to build a rewarding career for life.

"CopyTribe got me from A beyond Z!"

Some say CopyTribe helped them get to the next level. I say CopyTribe got me from A beyond Z!
Before Michal’s webinar, I didn’t know the field existed. A year later, I had completed ~15 copywriting projects, all for different clients needing different kinds of work.

— Rachel Segal CT6, Copywriter & Marketing Strategist, rachelsegal.co
